IM Canada (Whistler) vs. IM Colorado
I am having problems deciding between the two!! A friend of mine and I are thinking of doing one of these. My thoughts:
(keep in mind at the european championships in July this year it was 88 degrees on the run and I was one UNhappy camper - this is coloring my decisions quite a bit).
IM Boulder: I am worried about the heat combined with the altitude accelerating dehydration. It looks like from the weather it is pretty much guaranteed to be 80 something. However, since boulder is domestic it might present less logistical issues than an intl race...
IM Canada: Heard it could be mid 70s or 90s. UGH. Kind of excited to try someplace new. Not afraid of the hilly course.
I am actually curious about the new offering of IM Louisville in October. Because of the concept of 70 degrees....
And that's kind of all thats in my head. If anyone could weigh in I would really appreciate it!!

I vote IM Canada @ Whistler. We Pac NWers have no trouble navigating the border back and forth, not really an international race. The odds of 90 deg are pretty low in this venue - the previous incarnation was inland, and did have all sorts of weather from hail to blazing sun, but Whistler area is more "coastal" in the Canadian vernacular, meaning the nearby Salish Sea moderates the temps and weather.
If you;re willing to acclimatize for 2-3 weeks in CO prior to Boulder, then it's worth it. Otherwise, leave it to the locals.
Thanks Al!! I like where your heads at.
Whistler is an epic place. The bike course is hard as shit. There's just no getting around it. It's a fairly difficult course to begin with but that last 20 miles is just rough. The run course is fairly hilly as far as run courses go.
Thank you everyone for your help in the unanimous decision!!!! Just signed up.
