Jodi's ultra marathon plan
Hi Coach Patrick,
I had a post IM call with Coach Rich and he suggested I reach out to you. I am having to take a triathlon break due to finances. I want to continue endurance sports and am going to turn to ultras where we can camp on site. I have three planned ranging from 24 miles to 50 miles starting December and ending in March. I need some help with training and nutrition. Would this be something that can be done either through Endurance Nation, or I also stumbled across the Marathon Nation info? If not, I am up for suggestions. I have already done a trail marathon and a 50K trail run which was on trails similar to the App. Trail. The 50K took me 10.5 hours. At that pace, I am in danger of missing cutoffs along the way to my 50 milers. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Hey Jodi,
I'm moving this over to the Micro Thread, where P lives
Thanks! I am signed up for a 50 K on Nov. 22 that I did last year that claims to be the toughest...It took me 10.5 hours last year and it was 10,000 feet of elevation change, so I may back down to the 30 K if I can't hit the mark with this amount of training time left. I am signed up for a 50 miler Jan 10 that has 15000 feet of elevation change, and then I want to sign up for another 50 miler in March.
I just put my EN acct on the $10/month thing, but I will undue that if you think you can help me!
oops, you wanted bullets: - 11/22/14 50 K
-1/10/15 50 miler
-March,2015 50 miler
Here are my thoughts for you...the 50k is building up to the 50miler. All distances are miles, no XC just recovery when not running. Excellent nutrition is a must as is a variety of runs (road, trail, etc). And lots of new shoes!!!!! Please keep me posted.
