Tony Puckett's Macro Thread

Rich: Thanks for the season road map training plan. I will do the first week training you sent next week to get to the fitness tests. I was not clear on road map I submitted about the races I want to do next year. I am not going to try the HIM's in Kansas and Boulder on back to back weekends. I am only going to do one of those races. I listed both because I am not sure of the dates of the races and my schedule yet. Also, there is an Olympic distance race (Route 66) the weekend after Memorial Day in Oklahoma that I have done each year, and I may want to do that race too. I do not think I can do an Olympic followed by a HIM in successive weekends though. We can sort all that out later after I become a member. Tony

Ok. Yes, plenty of time to sort that out.

  • Season plan is now in focus. I am registered for the Legend Kansas 70.3 on June 7, 2015, and the Redman 70.3 on September 26, 2015.
I also might do a shorter distance Tri OKC club event on August 16, 2015 at Lake Arcadia that is a 1000 yd swim/20-mile bike/4-mile run, if it fits with my training schedule for the Redman. Based on these decisions on races, any change to my training plan/roadmap? Thanks.
  • Rich: Cancel the August race in Oklahoma. I forgot about a weekend trip I have to Colorado the same weekend. So, for now, only two races for me on the schedule. Thanks. Tony

Do you mean Redman, in September?

Ok, just follow the GF plan to that olympic in July

  • Yes on your question about Redman in September in Oklahoma.
I am not doing the Olympic race in July due to a wedding the same weekend.
My two races are Legend Kansas in June and Redman in Oklahoma in September.
I might try the Austin 70.3 since it is in early November now, but I am not sure about three HIM in one year.
  • Coach: I did not sign up for Austin 70.3 so I do not need any additional training plan for that race. I had a great race at Redman - new PR by more than an hour. I decided to bask in the glory and call it a year. I am working on my race report so you and everyone else can see the improvement. I used several tactics from Team EN's race execution page and from tips on your race report podcasts, such as the zip lock bag on the run and draping my hands on the bike. I really enjoyed the race report podcasts. My first race in 2016 will be the IM 70.3 in Chattanooga. Thanks for your help this year. Tony
