Do you have a powermeter on your bike? If yes, then do the power test. If no, do the heart rate test.
I need to buy a heart rate monitor - is chest strap or watch better?
Chest strap is the most proven. I don't know anything about how the newer watch versions work. That's a question that's better posted in the Gear Forum, as many of the members know much, much more about these things than I do.
My 2015 season looks like this"
March - NYC Half Marathon
June - Quassy Half IM
July - Nantucket Olympic
August - NYC Olympic
August - 28 mile Bike Race
October - Nantucket Half Marathon
November - NYC Full Marathon
Any changes I need to make to the training plan you laid out for me?
Yes, many. Please submit this to me formally via the Triathlon Season RoadMap page and I'll plan this out for you.
Hi Coach - question about 2016 season planning.
My A Race this year is IMLP, when i submitted my season roadmap i mentioned that I may do Quassy 70.3 as a warm up. It looks like you have me doing the HIM plan up to Quassy and then switching over the IM plan. My preference is to just train for IMLP as this will be my first full triathlon.
Should I resubmit the season roadmap, or should I load up the full IM plan?
thanks,
BK
Sounds good to me! Thanks
Hi Rich -
I am transitioning from the Beginner Get Faster Plan to the Beg Half IM Plan this week. My roadmap calls for doing week 12-15 of the HIM plan.
I have 2 questions:
1.) Last week (the final week of Get Faster) was a test week. Week 12 of the HIM plan is also a test week. What/how should I substitute for the Test workouts this week?
2.) As I look through the HIM plan there are some days with 2 runs listed. Is it correct to assume these are meant to be morning and evening runs?
Thanks,
BK
thanks coach, I found the info on what to do with double testing weeks.
