Im looking for a roof rack to carry the bikes for a toyota Rav4. Anyone have any suggestions for roof racks they use?

    Just don't be the guy that forgets about it and goes under a low clearance thing and wipes out the bikes...

    Look at Seasucker. It takes a little courage the first time, but it works great on my sedan and my wife's SUV with no tools.

    I had a Yakima roof rack on my mustang, loved it...for a while.

    Here's my advice for them:
    -make sure to keep the rubber-ized pads (between the "towers" and the car itself) in good condition. I had to order new ones every once in a while, as they'd deteriorate. When that happens, the towers would scratch my paint on my mustang. Not good.
    -do not try to add rails to carry additional bikes. I added a 3rd rail for my rack one time, and the additional weight caused the whole thing to sag, and one of the big screws that mounted the tray to the rail sunk directly down into my roof, almost went clean through the steel body, WAY deeper than just the paint!

    I've got a Toyota 4-runner now, and have a hitch-mounted two rack. Way better, if you ask me.
