Keep Zipp 909 disc and get crank power meter?

Bought used Cervelo P3 with Zipp 404 clincher/909 tubular disc. Also have Specialized Roubaix road bike.  Need a power meter. So, would you keep the 909 disc and get a crank-based power meter on the P3 (considering Power2Max or Quarq), or sell the 909 disc and get a Powertap Zipp rear wheel that can be used on both bikes? Thanks.

  • Recommend you sell the disk and get a 404 or 808 rear PT that you can use on both bikes. Actually, 404, then toss on a wheel cover for racing. See the sale I've worked up with Wheelbuilder, in the Gear or Power forum, I believe

  • Get the Powertap on a clincher. You are flirting with Disaster using a clincher up front and a tubbie in the back. Would you pack for both flat scenarios?
  • Thanks guys. Yes, was going to have to pack both for a race, not that I have experience with changing a tubular.
