I started running at age 50, in order to do triathlons. One of my goals has been to discover and demonstrate what is possible, athletically, as we get older. One thing I learned along the way is that, no matter what your age, or your current fitness/speed, there is always room to improve. Not necessarily to go faster, but to simply become a better athlete through training, nutrition, body care, mental attitude, etc. The rules of improvement are the same for a 75 y/o woman who runs a 4:00 marathon and wants to go 3:55 as they are for an 80 y/o in a nursing home who wants to walk to the store two blocks away instead of being driven.
