Any interest in a group / camp-ish Ero tri-bike fitting in LA?
Team,
I'm headed down to the LA velodrome today for a Retul fit, in advance of ordering a new Calfee road bike (!).
The velodrome is home to Ero-Fit, which uses the Alphamantis fitting / aerodynamic system. I swam in college with the business development manager for Alphamantis and we met earlier this year to discuss EN and AM working together to provide aero-camps to triathletes.
Anyway, nothing really came of it but I'd like to restart the conversation. Specifically, I want to use their system a couple times this year in advance of IMWI and I'm wondering if there's an opportunity to leverage this to create/pilot a group format aero-fitting camp with local and regional EN athletes, and of course anyone else who wants to fly in. I could see this as:
- Friday = all day working with the system to improve our tri bike positions.
- Saturday = the Endurance Nation Death Ride --> 135+ mile ride in the mountains with 16-17k of gain
Or something like that. My point being that time on the track and with the system is easier to get during the week and then as long as we're together, might as well crush ourselves in the mountains. I would want to do this in March or April, in advance of IMSG, and/or in June-August, in advance of IMWI.
Post up here if you're interested so I can start to noodle a negotiation strategy

Interested in both.
Ditto
let me look into April, should work
I ask because it will probably be time to upgrade my starter Giant Defy 1 aluminum road bike in the next year or so, although it is a hell of a bike for less than $1500. Of course, I've got to get a mountain bike first for Utah.
Calfee is a small CA brand and one of the first carbon frame builders.
I don't think the aeroness of a frame is important for a road bike, certainly not how I use a road bike. I like the idea of getting exactly what I want (design, colors, etc) and a bike that is 100% mine and unique from a manufacturer that not many people ride. When I see bikes from the big manufacturers (Cervelo, Trek, Specialized, etc) I see a nice bike, but some other guy has decided what the paint scheme is, slapped a shit ton of their graphics and stickers on the bike, etc.
So this bike will present the EN brand and be 100% unique to me .
I ride a Calfee Luna Pro, if you wanted to price one out. Rich Sawiris is a dealer and could probably work something out for you.
Ok, I'm looking at doing this aerocamp on Friday, April 3rd and the Endurance Nation Death Ride (ENDR) on Saturday, April 4th.
How does that look for people?
Of course, I still need to coordinate the date and the format with Jim, etc.
( Me, I would spend Christmas, my SO's birthday and Canada Day in a tunnel if it would find me 5watts, but others might have lives and stuff like that!)
