is there a recovery week?

I'm on week 4 of outseason beginner program and feeling tired and sore even with good rest at night and frequent stretching and rolling. I've looked ahead and don't see the intensity letting up. Are there recovery weeks built into the out season program?

    Mondays and Fridays are off/"no legs days." Are you following the schedule on those days, ie, no running or cycling?

  • Yes I am but I am doing the light core routine
  • The reason I asked about Mon and Fri is because people often under estimate the work in the OS and hold onto their normal regimen, not taking those days off. The work in the OS is legit, no doubt. We don't have a recovery week built into the OS, as that's what the Monday and Friday off are for. 

    Personally, I don't take those Mon and Fri off, instead I move the runs from those double days to Monday and Friday. IOW, I'm only doing one workout per day, at most. 

    Fine to take an extra day off or two, anywhere, if you feel you need to.
