Official 2014 "Why I am Thankful Thread" in Honor of Turkey Day...
Folks, it's become a bit of an annual tradition to step back and say what we are thankful for -- in the REAL world -- but I am constantly reminded of just how awesome a gig we have going on here and I wanted to say THANKS to you.
- Thanks for keeping me on track to my first IM in two years...and to helping me get to Kona.
- Thanks for your messages of support, both nurturing and challenging (!) as I needed them both.
- Thanks for sharing your journeys, the good and the bad - it reminds me DAILY of how human we all are.
And thanks for making EN such a success. As I walk to pick my kids up from school...or we go out on our weekly family "date night"...I can't help but reflect on how profoundly EN has changed my personal life and how grateful I am. And thankful.
You. Guys. Rock.
Go eat a bird,
~ Coach P

My friends here in the haus, in my local tri club/scene here in MI that I've come to love, and honestly, I'd never have met any other way
My body that does almost everything I ask of it (almost!) and is healthy and strong at 50 (whoda thunk???)
My ever loving family who accept that their former non sporty kinda a chubby mom/wife now LOVES triathlon and support me in my silliness (even though I drive um nuts, I've heard um brag...how cool is that?)
My baby just getting the call that he was accepted to my alma mater...he is so excited, as am I!
The good fortune to have fiscal security to take care of our family, fund our kids college, travel a bit and of course, tri!
The list goes on and on...
I am thankful for this day and every day I am blessed to walk on the earth. I am thankful for my health and the ability to work, live and do this sport. I am thankful for my family. I am especially thankful for my very supportive wife, without whom I could not be a triathlete. I am thankful for the great friends and teammates I have met through EN. I am thankful for the coaches whose work helps focus and organize my training. I hope everyone has a safe and happy week.
* Friends who are more like Family
* The ability to participate in a sport that has captivated my heart

To Coach RnP:
You two are always encouraging, always human, always inventing and bring so much to people's lives whether you are aware of it or not, so thankful for you two and the EN community you two have built.
I too am thankful of many things:
To RnP, you guys have built an amazing community here and I feel honored to be a part of that. Thank you for all you do.
