Official 2014 "Why I am Thankful Thread" in Honor of Turkey Day...

Folks, it's become a bit of an annual tradition to step back and say what we are thankful for -- in the REAL world -- but I am constantly reminded of just how awesome a gig we have going on here and I wanted to say THANKS to you.

  • Thanks for keeping me on track to my first IM in two years...and to helping me get to Kona.
  • Thanks for your messages of support, both nurturing and challenging (!) as I needed them both.
  • Thanks for sharing your journeys, the good and the bad - it reminds me DAILY of how human we all are.

And thanks for making EN such a success. As I walk to pick my kids up from school...or we go out on our weekly family "date night"...I can't help but reflect on how profoundly EN has changed my personal life and how grateful I am. And thankful.

You. Guys. Rock.

Go eat a bird,

~ Coach P

  • I am thankful that RnP have created such an amazing place. I am thankful for the friends I made and still have because of EN. And I am most thankful for my family that not only supports my tri-habit, but actively encourages it.
  • So much to be thankful for!
My friends here in the haus, in my local tri club/scene here in MI that I've come to love, and honestly, I'd never have met any other way

My body that does almost everything I ask of it (almost!) and is healthy and strong at 50 (whoda thunk???)

My ever loving family who accept that their former non sporty kinda a chubby mom/wife now LOVES triathlon and support me in my silliness (even though I drive um nuts, I've heard um brag...how cool is that?)

My baby just getting the call that he was accepted to my alma mater...he is so excited, as am I!

The good fortune to have fiscal security to take care of our family, fund our kids college, travel a bit and of course, tri!

The list goes on and on...image
  • I am thankful for this day and every day I am blessed to walk on the earth. I am thankful for my health and the ability to work, live and do this sport. I am thankful for my family. I am especially thankful for my very supportive wife, without whom I could not be a triathlete. I am thankful for the great friends and teammates I have met through EN. I am thankful for the coaches whose work helps focus and organize my training. I hope everyone has a safe and happy week.

  • Thankful for:

    * Friends who are more like Family
    * The ability to participate in a sport that has captivated my heart
    * People who believe in me and more importantly let me challenge and believe in them
    * Wine and Chocolate (had to #sorrynotsorry )
    * A job that fulfills me more than I ever thought possible
    * Spandex (am I right ladies?)
    * My father who always and forever has my back

    To Coach RnP:

You two are always encouraging, always human, always inventing and bring so much to people's lives whether you are aware of it or not, so thankful for you two and the EN community you two have built.
  • I too am thankful of many things:

    • My health and life in general because they can be so fickle, you never know when you may loose either
    • My wife Carole who keeps me grounded and supports my endurance addictions
    • My job that consistently challenges me intellectually and rewards me emotionally
    • And EN for the friendships, camradarie, support, motivation and extensive education about all things SBR and beyond

To RnP, you guys have built an amazing community here and I feel honored to be a part of that.  Thank you for all you do.

    Steven

  • My list includes:

    • My health and ability to reason/think/rationalize
    • My family/kids
    • My Friends/teammates
    • My birthright as a US Citizen
    • The opportunities that yet remain to serve, support, make a difference going forward

EN is a special place because of the coaches and the team that makes it up.....easy to take that for granted.

Happy Thanksgiving all!  Life is good!...............
