Weekly Weigh in for 4/21/2010

Okay, so the spreadsheet should be here hopefully I got that right.

I'm pretty stoked this week with a 3.5# loss, feel like I'm finally back on track after a lot of false starts and hiccups.  Looking forward to plowing through May with some consistent losses so that I start the IM block in good shape.

  • AHHHHHHHHHHH, finally below 180, it has been years!!!!

  • Thanks for cranking this thread up Tony.  There's no way I'm getting up a 4 am to beat you.

For those that have been following I've been stuck for some time and finally have broken through to 215.  Down one more.  So my next goal is  to be below 210.  I'll set that for May 12th.  I have to pick things ups for a few weeks. That is not just one pound losses to be able to hit the 190 goal for August 29th.

  •  Good job Gordon!!

  • WOW! You guys are impressive. Nice to see some movement again for many of you! You are giving me some hope. I'm still stuck at 111 and would really prefer to be about 108 about this time of year. We'll see, I'm finally running consistently again and for some reason running is the thing that impacts my weight the most.
  • I'm up 3.2 lbs to 140, but considering I have done nothing but eat since 1:00 on Monday I'm ok with it :-)
  • @Matt - yeah, I guess you've got a good excuse.

@Nemo - that could be because running tends (for most people) to have lower RER values at submaximal intensities than cycling, so you end up using fat more as a source of energy.

@Dan - good job for you too!  Breaking milestones like that make it worthwhile!

@Gordon - I agree, when you've got a lot to lose it feels like you're doing something 'wrong' when you're not losing at least 2#/week doesn't it?

  • 156 this morning.  Happy to say that I'm still at the weight I was at for the start of the OS.  It will be interesting to see what 12 weeks of race prep do to me.  I've been wanting to race at about 147 (used to row a little lighter than that), but I'm not sure if losing weight was part of my difficulties earlier in the year.

  • well, I traveled to Texas last week and not only sucessfully rode 150+ miles from Houston to Austin, I seem to have brought an appitite back with me. I added 1.5 pounds this week. I'll work hard this week to get back to where I need to be. Man, this is hard work. Good job everyone.
