HR zone tests - modify plan?

Rich-

Last week was super busy with work AND the holiday, I just realized I loaded and started the "2013 pre-season" workout and did not do the "trial week training plan".

I need to set my HR zones and get started properly.

Currently, I do not have a power meter, but will be adding that after Christmas (assuming Santa does his part).

On the training and setting HR zones, should I:

(a) load the "trial week" plan for this week - end on Saturday/Sunday? - to get the tests?

(b) continue with the "2013 preseason" workout until the end of December?

or...please advise.

Al

    Hey Al,

If you have zones that are "good enough" for now, then no big reason to test. We'll have you test in Wk1 of the OS plan. Otherwise you can just look back and see what those tests where, test this weekend, then carry on with the rest of the PS plan through 1/4

  • Cool.

I have working HR zones for both bike & run from training earlier this year. I'll use those and plug those in. thanks Rich.
