910 vs 510 power numbers

I train capturing data with both devices. I notice that my there is a pretty big differential between the two at the end of a ride. The 510 consistently says I'm putting out about 10-15 higher average watts. Does anyone else see this? and if you do, which numbers do you use (or more importantly... do you find more accurate?)

  • What type of PM do you have?
Are you using both devices off of the same ANT+ signal?
  • I use a Quark Riken and calibrate the 510 and 910 every ride
  • Check to see if the non-zero averaging is set differently in each device. Sounds like the 510 might be set to OFF and the 910 set to ON.
  • Nailed it Bob... thanks...

So I guess removing the zeros (if you're on the trainer) would remove any time the data drops? That would be a better measure on the trainer where you are constantly pedaling... but if you're outside you would want to include them because you want the data to average in the coasting?

I guess I'm really asking what to set them to?

  • I always have it set to ON. The NP number you get from any ride kind of/sort of/more or less factors in the zeroes so as long as you're getting a NP I wouldn't worry about gaming the trainer number.
  • Worked great today... So nice to see the data streM/ record the same... Thanks again Bob
