TOC bargain

Howdy all,

The problem with planning an event a year ahead of time is that work sometimes doesn't cooperate.  I have just been handed a new schedule that takes all my planned vacation away. I can quit working but then my wife and mortgage company would not be too thrilled.

So I can make someone a good deal on a TOC seat if they can make it or else I am eating a good chunk of change.

Rich and Patrick, I'll email separately to see if there are more options maybe.

i'm sure glad now I ran Boston! It may be my big event this year!

Thank God I have my health!

Dusty

  • Booooo, Dusty, I was really looking forward to seeing you in Cali! Sorry about the derailment, but I hope you find a replacement or solution to ease the pain.
  • Hey Greg,

Sorry you can't make it. I'll put the word out with the locals here and some other contacts to see if anyone is interested. My only requirement is that we know them or know someone who can vouch for them. I don't want anyone on this tour that hasn't been vetted, so to speak.

  •  I'd be all over this if I didn't have to be in Europe the following week for work.

  • When is TOC again?

  • Work getting in the way of ToC fun...that's no good! Wah!
    Sorry you can't make it.
  • Greg,

I probably can't afford it, but would be awesome to go. Can't hurt to ask:

    did you find a replacement?
    How much are you asking?
    Would you like a p3c cervelo frame/fork?

Thanks and I realize rich has the final say.

  • G,

    You're good

I'm talking about the unvetted anonymous asshole that drops in for a week on our covey of cool kids. No thanks.

  • OMG- I think Rich just called me a cool kid! :-) Been working towards that my whole life!
  • Rich I bet the euro guy we rode with that one day (with the cap) is available to ride with us image

    Couldn't resist.

I am not sure that guy would approve of Rich!

  • I nominate one of Riley's picture mates from the TT last year. They were wearing sweet green kits so they must be cyclists. image
  • Gilberto, I'd like to get $2,000 of the 2850ish (I cannot find my receipt now) I have paid. Make me an offer though if that is too high. Obviously I'm in a spot as I have not found a replacement yet. I don't have a need for another bike either I'm afraid!

  • Dear Greg,

Seems like the TOC work curse has hit me too!  All was quiet at work and suddenly, BOOM, I haven't even had time to log onto the EN forums.

Looks like the current project load at work will carry me through the next few weeks.  There is a small chance that I can work hard enough before May 16th, to be able to escape for 8 days and do the TOC, but hard to say right now.  I'll put my nose to the grindstone and see what happens.

The other issue is getting you the money you want.  I'll see if I can liquidate enough of my extra high end stuff to at least approach your offer.  I am all about being fair and square, so if I fall short it won't be for lack of trying.  I'm working off a student budget and all my credit cards have cut my limits, so makes things kind of tough.  I just sold off a bunch of stuff to get a new powermeter!

Good luck in getting your spot sold!  i'll keep trying in the meantime.

    sincerely,

    Gilberto
