KK's Macro Forum 2015 season

Hi Coach -

I'm still in the process of learning about the EN training program. I just finished my 30 day free trial (I did most of the wkouts) then some how irritated my hip flexor.  For this reason I haven't started my run focus block which started on 12/7. I'm going to take a week off to allow it to heal 100%. I may continue with the beginner run focus block vs the advanced when I start back up to allow my body to adapt. Is that ok?

I noticed that the January advanced OS starts on 1/5 but I am scheduled to start it on 1/12.  Should I change that to start with everyone else on 1/5 or will that mess up my other blocks?

Thanks Kristin Kandiel

    Hey Kristin,

If you look at your TSR more closely, you'll see that I had you load up the Run Focus plan to end on 1/11, but you're starting the OS on January 5th. The Run Focus plan is 6wks but I only wanted you to do it until Jan 5th, at which time you were to transition over to the OS plan. Hopefully that makes sense .

Have said that, the Run Focus plan isn't the best solution for you now, given your injury, etc. Our #1 priority is getting you back to 100% by Jan 5th, so you can start the OS as healthy as possible. So:

    • Load up the Beginner Run Focus plan, setting it to end on 1/11. However,
    • If you find out that the plan is too much for you, then switch over to the PreSeason training plan, setting it to end on 1/11. IE, you'll do the PS vs the RF plan, as this plan is lower risk...but I still want you to try out the Beginner RF plan, to see how it fits.
    • Then on Jan 5th load up the OS plan, per my instructions on your TSR. From that point on, just follow the instructions in your TSR.

Again, getting you to 100% by Jan 5th takes priority over anything you may/may not be able to do over the next 3wks. Good luck!
