Hi Everyone,
Checking in to say hello and happy training! I am just getting back from San Juan 70.3 and will be jumping in to the Syracuse training plan. I completed IMLP last year and used Syracuse as a training effort. I have been struggling with having a good run off the bike in every endurance event I have completed. This doesn't happen during training. But, my race results are telling a consistent story. So, I am committed to running off the bike, every single time I ride.
I liked this course and had a hamstring injury last year. This year, I would like to return, have a solid race and improve my time.
Looking forward to meeting more teammates and encouraging eachother through the training.
Hi Pavol,
Not sure that there is any video or other material on the site. Gerry Gordon wrote a race report. It is in the Race Report Forum. If you are interested I can upload the maps from last year's course. The swim is nice, lake and transition is close by. The bike is great. 1st half is hills and lots of climbing but the back half is down hill and rolling and you will fly. The run is challenging and is part cross-country part road. There is one incline and one steep hill and it is a 2 loop run course. Let me know if you want me to upload the maps. I can do it later tonight when i am at my home computer.
Athlete Guide is posted!
Hi Everyone,
Syracuse will be my 6th HIM. It's a last-minute addition becuase I scored a lottery slot to Kona and will use this race to validate my entry. So much for a relaxing year "off"! Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Great seeing you guys all on the course this weekend. Hopefully you were all able to get out safely.
Doug - congrats on punching the ticket, and good luck in Kona!
