  • Hey there! I'm in and looking forward to this race. I'll be heading to Raleigh with a large group of OBXers. This is my A race for the spring (I'll be doing Kinetic Half as a warm up) and really hope to execute it well.
  • YAY Nemo!
Looking forward to meeting more members of "Team Carolina". I am in. Got my registration confirmation e-mail along with another one telling me that I was unsuccessful in registering for the IronKids race. Don't know whats up with that but I'm thinking they are not in my AG.

I have the big NC year going with the Blue Ridge camp and then Raleigh 70.3. Also planning to do the cross SC "Ride to Remember" and Augusta in the Fall so it will be an "all Carolina year".
  • Hi Ralph! Sounds like a great year planned. Just curious, have you ever done the CNC Mountains to Coast ride? Some day I'd like to do that one- sounds great!
  • I'll be at Raleigh also, and look forward to meeting the EN crowd. Raleigh 70.3 two years ago was my first tri ever, so I am looking forward to getting back and seeing much improved times (and very, very happy to read that they changed the run course from the first year).

Ralph - I look forward to meeting you at both the Blue Ridge Camp and Raleigh.
  • @ Nemo - No I have not done that ride but I would certainly like to know more about it. Sounds like fun (but NC is longer than SC) The SC ride is an Alzheimers fundraising event that I am doing with a non-EN Buddy.

@ John - Great! I will see you there.
  • Hey team, checking in for the race. Raleigh will be my 1st half since 2012. I had a great OS and am really looking to build on that and set a solid PR. I live in Rochester, NY so the first few weeks of the race build will be mostly indoors with a couple runs outside when it's not miserable to do so.

I've heard a lot of great things about this race and got a chance to ride a portion of the bike course last year (thanks Mariah!). I'm really looking forward to training with everyone and meeting a big contingent of EN teammates at the race.
  • Hi team,
It looks like Raleigh 70.3 will be my first race as an EN member. I will be driving up from Miami, FL and am really looking forward to meeting other members of the team. Not sure what to expect from this race...I hear its great race but coming from one of the flattest parts of the country, I have to admit that I have no idea what to expect on the bike course. I will also be doing Augusta 70.3 in September as well as some smaller Olys here in Florida.

    See you in NC!
  • Mario- yeah, I'm in the same boat. We've got lots of wind to contend with here, but unless I head over a bridge I am not seeing any hills! How far of a drive is it for you to Clermont? Spent some time visiting a friend there in February and was surprised there were actually quite a few nice rollers!
  • Nemo - Sorry about the late reply. My friends and I get out to Clermont 2-4 times a year. Its about a 4 hour drive for us, so we can make a weekend out of it. Always wondered what the non-Floridians think of the area but considering the number of pros that are typically there, I know it makes for some great riding (and running). It is remarkably hilly.

Funny how I finished my ride today complaining that winter is definitely over here in Miami with temperatures in the 80s....but after reading all the posts about having to ride the trainer for another week, now I feel guilty. I really have no idea how you guys can deal with winter training.

    Train safe!
  • Well, it's not exactly "hilly" compared to many other areas, but for Florida, I was surprised! And hey- it's warm there! Beats a trainer any day.
  • Racing in Raleigh 70.3. my first time there.

in Bonita Springs, FL. should be heading 2 OBX, NC 4/2. 4 three months it's been warm but most of my " bike training" has been at HR level 2.5 since I'm just getting to know the area. ready to get to real work in NC soon!

and I ain't great with forums!

  • Well hello there Jim!!! Looking forward to seeing you when you get back onto OBX
  • Hello all!

Matt Webster here, excited for Raleigh!  I live in Northern VA, in the DC area so only about a 5 hour drive for me.  Looking forward to the race!

  • Hey Raleigh Peeps- Brenda is going to make our reservation for lunch so make sure you sign this doc - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n1qBU5AOjYzbNZ9e8DWHNRcNCasV29RxUJX65pSZWso/edit#gid=167
  • Hello team,
This will be year 3 for me, I live here. Will be the 3rd course I understand. They made the run course easier last year, I hear the bike course is being changed this year. Riding the course on a recon ride may 10th. Looking forward to seeing/meeting everyone.
