2015 Heads We Win/Tails You Lose Thread

Heads We Win, Tails You Lose Spreadsheet

The JanOS'15 is about to begin. One of our longest, most fun, and lucrative (for the coaches) tradition is the Heads We Win, Tails You Lose Bet. Here's how it works:

The Heads We Win, Tails You Lose Spreadsheet

  • Sign in and enter your information in the Base Data Table sheet of the spreadsheet
  • When you complete your tests this week, come back and enter your testing results in the spreadsheet AND post them to this thread so we can all see where everyone is starting from, jumpstart the accountability and team cammaraderie mojo
  • RnP will look at your results and set end of the OS goals for you, The Bet.

*Edit: when posting your results to this thread, please include age, weight, and w/kg, if you are riding with power. Thanks, just helps everyone get a picture of everyone else.

How the Bet Works -- it's very simple:

  • Meet or beat the goal we give you by the end of season? You buy us coffee, putting $5-10,000 on each of our Starbucks cards, entered on Sheet 1 of the spreadsheet, for your convenience.
  • Fail to meet your goal? You buy us coffee.

See? Very simple!http://members.endurancenation.ushttp://members.endurancenation.us/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Thanks and don't forget to:

  1. Sign in on the spreadsheet
  2. After you test this week, enter your results on the spreadsheet AND in this thread as a post below.

  • So,
I am nursing a hamstring strain that I got setting a 10K PR on thanksgiving day. Coach Patrick has suggested that I work on steady for a while as this resolves. As such, I am relying on my previous test values for the start of OS tests for both the bike and run. I only have a little soreness doing the Trainerroad workouts at my previous FTP so I am staying there until week 8. Since I am still getting soreness with running, we are working on steady and frequency for run durability with lots of stretching rather than pushing the intervals right now. I hope to change this also by week 8.
  • Hi,
    Week one testing results were:
    FTP = 159
vDot = n/a just started back running to early to test
  • Wk 8 tests done. I need some new goals, RnP - Work works!!!!

FTP goal was 175...results....I increased from 165 to 182
vdot goal was 31...did a 10k race last week at 31

  • Did my baseline 5k TT outdoors on 1/2/15. My plan was to do it today on the same track but all tracks in my area are still snow-covered. Because of this I had to do it on my treadmill. I'm not really sure how to gauge my progress fairly. My outdoor time on 1/2/15 was 20:04 at an average HR of 152. Today I cranked the 'mill up to 2.0% and 9.6 mph and held it there until about minute 15:00. At that point I dropped the speed by 0.1 mph every minute until I got to 9.3 mph and held it there until the treadmill said I had done 3.1 miles. That took 19:28 and my average HR was 155. Again, not sure how these data correlate, but today definitely hurt!
