training race advice

Hi Rich
i am doing my full ironman on the 28th of june there is a local half ironman on the 24th of may.what is the timing of this race like for my A race. i need to enter it to day otherwise their entry fee is doubling in price ,would you advise me to do it. also i am planning on doing weeks training abroad what would the best time of year be for me to do this for my race in the 28th of june.
also i never arranged a skype call can we do this whenever suits.

May 24th is a bit too close to be racing a half before a full IM, as that is prime IM-specific training time.
Late May, early June would be ideal for that training week.
