John Stark Micro Thread
Hi P:
I am BAAAAACCCCCKKKKKKKKKK!!!!
After thinking about it more, I am thinking I may want to change my plan based on my goals. I am just getting back into training after a long vacation and started JOS last week. I can currently run 2 to 3 miles at ~ 11:00 minute pace. I can ride outside for about 90 minutes. My FT is 210 and my vDot isn't even accurate based on tests last week. With that said, below are my short-term goals and need to decide where I should start. I am considering changing from JOS to Run Focus Block - Beginner starting this week.
- Planning on a half marathon in April
- Lose 20# to get back to race weight.
- Bike is for fun and to burn calories and build fitness.
- Swim is for fun and to burn calories and build fitness.
- I have a nutrition call with Penny this week.
Would love to understand my best route starting this week.
Thanks, brotha.

I'd rather see you in the run durability program for 2 months first. So RD 1, then RD 2. This is several runs a week for frequency, plus a bike and a swim. You can bike extra as needed (steady) but what we want here is a smooth re-entry that gives you max calorie burn (running) without intensity as you don't have the physical bandwidth for the hard work yet.
IOW, you and I will be having a very different conversation about your fitness in 6 to 8 weeks, so let's not get too carried away right out of the gate. Please load up RD1 and we can go from there!
