MM's Micro Thread

Hi Coach, 

I have not trained since Sept last year (trained for Lake Tahoe and when it got cancelled I took it pretty hard). This is my first week back into training and I blew up in both bike and run tests . Should I re-test or do a couple of weeks of conditioning or something else? Not sure how to proceed. 

Also I just scheduled our first chat. Pumped to talk and tell you about my plan this year!

  • Michael, I suggest that you load the PreSeason Plan to end on 2/15 (it's a 4 week plan) and do at least the first 2 weeks of it. Then on 2/2 you can load the OS plan to end on 5/3 but only do the first 9 weeks -- the Mercer Island half will be your Week 8 run "test" (no 5k for you there) so I'd like to see you really keep up that long run -- or build it up to 90 minutes as safely and as quickly as you can...maybe keep pace out of the equation for the time being.
