Realigning schedule
Hi Coach Rich,
I started the NOS and was having a pretty good go at it. I went from 49 VDOT to 54 and a 250 FTP to 287. And then the wheels came off. I started feeling weak in the longer bike efforts and was having a very difficult time hitting my run paces.
I took two weeks off for a medical procedure of the family planning variety and thought I would be rested up and ready to come back strong. I knew I couldn't just jump in at 100% so I thought I would ease back into training the first week. 1st week back was somewhat disappointing and the 2nd has been worse.
I am wondering if it would make more sense to restart the OS plan, roll with the January OS group, or just plod on with the schedule I have. My A race this year is IM Tahoe so I have 8 months to figure it out and I don't want to be frustrated all season.
