Eric Burney's macro thread for 2015
Rich,
In late December I submitted a list of races and you sent me a season roadmap. I made some changes and wanted to get your input.
I also listed to Patrick's talks about setting expectations parts 1 & 2...the question I have is as follows:
Are the races that I have selected going to prepare me or prevent me from finishing IMAZ?
My swim is right around 2:00/100m...should I get help with my stroke?
My bike is TBD...I have been riding a road bike (R3) with aero bars but bought a P2 in December and have mainly been on an indoor trainer using workouts on trainer road.com. If the course is not full of hills, I can hold a 18-20+mph pace on my old bike. We will see how I do on my tri bike ?
Running is my weakest event...should I do a marathon before IMAZ ?
Here are my 2015 races/events:
March 7th Bayshore 70.4...an early season /local event before I have built up my fitness
Marc-April-May no events planned .....this is a 90 day window to do whatever it takes...Train for a marathon ?
June 13th Boulder 70.3
July 11th June Lake 70.3
July-Aug no events planned but want to train for the 70.3's and IMAZ ...build run durability
Sept 4-6th Swim 1.2mi /Bike 100mi /Tioga Pass 9mi Run Graniteman Mammoth/June Lake
Sept 27th Superfrog 70.3 ...5 miles of running in the sand !
Oct-Nov focus on IMAZ RR and the steps necessary for the first time finisher @ IMAZ
Let me know your thoughts....Thanks

I am signed up for the FTF program for IMAZ....I recently received the 2 race rehearsal emails...
Welcome to the next step of the FirstTimeFinish Program -- your first Race Rehearsal! Your race is approaching and it's time to start thinking about what it means to actually put what you've learned and done to the test.
Here's what this step entails:
Submit Race Rehearsal 1 Plan
Pick a Good Route
Complete It
Counsel Thyself on Failure
Report Back
When you are ready.....My IM Race is not until November....when am I supposed to do these rehearsals for the FTF program ? or the dates on the TSR above (Oct 5th and 26th ?
Eric Burney
Hi Eric,
The short answer is that those emails are synched to your race date / the workouts that appear in your training plan. So...
Hope this helps!
