When to get new Cycling shoes

when should i get new cycling shoes? So here is my issue, my right shoe becomes un-Velcroed because the fuzz is not fuzzy anymore. I have tried to wash them a few times and it keeps getting worse. (So it is not dirt or grime keeping the fuzz down)

So what do i do?

A) get a new pair of shoes for a new season.

do something to the Velcro so they still work.

i have had these shoes for about 5 seasons.

Robert- What is this washing your shoes thing of which you speak ?

IMHO, time for a new pair of shoes. I'll use my stuff until the proverbial wheels fall off it, but it sounds like that's what is happening to your shoes.

Go ride a few laps around the Prince William Forest Park for me. I miss that place.

There is a previous thread on this very topic but I don't recall whether it was on the old forum or this one...some pretty funny stuff too. I think it depends on where you live and what you want. Guys living in the arid southwest can go a lot longer, but my metal strap holders tend to completely rust out after a few years of sweating all over them. Some folks don't buy new until they've pissed in them so many times that they walk away on their own. YMMV!

Anyway, I think you got your money's worth already...time to treat yourself to something new.
