OutSeason BIKE comparison 2013 vs 2014

As I did the NOS Advanced now 2 years in a row and the plan received only some minor changes a thought I'll put all of my bike interval data side-by-side and see what has changed ... thought this might be interesting for some of you (maybe also for the coaches)

The data shown in NP calculated by TrainingPeaks.

To be honest I think the values can't be compared directly without noting that the total training-setup changed completely from 2013 to 2014. I'm using a new PM (Garmin Vector) on my road-bike mounted on a new turbo-trainer.

The uppermost graph is showing our beloved FTP (95-100%) intervals.

The bottom-left graph reflects our 5x5' @ 110% sufferfests.

The bottom-right graph is showing Vo2Max (120%) efforts.

  2013  2014   delta  '13 vs '14
 FTP total average NP  304,2  309,9  5,7  101,9%
110% total average NP   339,3  348,0  8,7  102,6%
 120% total average NP  361,8  378,1  16,3  104,5%

  • Hi Stefan, did you manually create the graphs or were you able to export the NP data from TP? If so, how? I only get average and max power when I do an export to a csv file.
  • Mark - I did it by hand. Once the spreadsheet is prepared it's very easy because I'm writing the NP data to the weekly threats too so it's just copy 'n paste.
I just noticed there is a minor issue on the 5x5' graph above as the green line for 2014 is using the second Y-axis instead of both using the same one ...
