Road v. trainer

My typical sunday workout ask for 120-150 min of zone 3 bike and 30 min. of Z3-4 running. Some weekends after several hours of saturday training, my home situation ask for a shorter workout. Can you give me an alternative, maybe a higher intensity-shorter bike-trainer workout? and/or maybe a little bit more running? I am on week 14 of HIM training.

  • RV - if you need to shorten it on the trainer you could do the following:

    1) warm up of about 20'
    2) main set efforts as intervals building Z3 to Z4 -- think 4x12(3) where you increase the power by 10w every 2' -- that level of focus is hard to manage!!
    3) remaining time in Z3 as you have time.
