Looking for a new Saddle

I currently have a Terry saddle which is an upgrade from the saddle that came with my bike 3 years ago. I ride a Trek Madone and the bontrager saddle had a HUGE hard nose. The terry saddle is better, but not great. Any suggestions?

  • Been happy with my cobb vflow. Most bike shops let you do a saddle trial program, probably the best bet.
  • Zero bike shops here let you try them out.

  • Cobb gives a 90 day trial. I'm guessing other companies you order from might as well? But at least Cobb could be a place to start. Do bike shops at least do a saddle fit? Measure sit bones sort of thing?
  • I did a sit bone measure thing in Georgia when I lived there briefly in 2013. My bike fit guy would want to put the saddle on for me so it would fit my fit. image Cobb huh? never heard of them, but I'll surely give that a look, thanks so much!

  • Another gal for cobb ! used to have a butterfly....and switched to the cobb v flow...never looked back.
  • OK, I ordered a Cobb! Should be here Monday or Tuesday. I hope I can get it put on before Bike Sebring this weekend.

  • I didn't have the cobb before my first 100 mile ride in Sebring, but my Terry saddle was OK. Finally did get the Cobb and after a few adjustments it was just OK. First was sore bits, THEN adjusted....3 hour trainer ride left me numb for several days. Weird. SO I've returned the Plus2 and am discussing a couple options with the Cobb people. I have to say, even though they are expensive, Cobb seems determined to get me the right saddle. Keep you posted.

  • Yep, you can't lose with Cobb! If it doesn't work, no money lost!
  • I think TriSports has (or had) a try before you buy saddle program. I happen to like my Terry saddle on my road bike (can't remember which model it is) but I do know lots of ladies have liked the Cobb. For my TT bike, it's Adamo all the way for me!
  • So it's gone back, now to choose a replacement. They have a wider one now, 'adamo-like" saddle. Called Fifty Five. $uper $pendy but likely worth the dough.

  • New Max saddle by Cobb. 2 hours on the trainer today... So far so good!

update: 90 minutes yesterday. Might be a little firm. But no serious sore spots on the bits.
