Challenge (aka Rev3) Quassy 2015 Kick-Off
This is your Race Captain speaking! I know we are about 4 months away from Quassy, but might as well get the mojo going early. (Mo' hills need mo' mojo!)
This will be my 6th year doing Quassy. I'm semi-local (about 45 mins from the race) so this race is a must-do for me every year! I've done the Oly every year except last year when I suffered from temporary insanity and thought I should do the Half, as sort of a "test" to consider Lake Placid in 2015. I have since recovered from that and will be doing the Oly again (and NOT Lake Placid.... ever)
I'm currently in Week 6 of the JOS, then I'll transition to a HIM plan (but no HIM on the calendar), then the IM plan en route to IMChoo (2nd IM). I am super competitive.... with myself, so I'll be looking for a big course PR vs. 2013. (I took 19 mins off my 2013 vs 2012 time so may be harder than I think).
I'll be @ Quassy both days, one to race, one to cheer for EN! Looking forward to meeting everyone virtually and in person!
Who else is in?
Comments
Kim- thanks for being our team captain!
I am in for the Half and it will be my first. I live in Rowayton, CT so its not too far away - I am up for a training ride when it gets a little warmer
I was stung by the Tri-bee last year when I did my first Triathlon ever. Never in my life did I think I would have fun being in perpetual motion for hours at a time. When I did my second Oly (Mossman Park City) I concluded that there was clearly something wrong with me for enjoying it so much!!
Then I found EN and realized other people suffer from the same 'afffliction' ...happy I found this group!!!
Brian- Glad to see another CT ENr!
FYI I'll probably plan a ride or two for anyone local-ish to ride the course in April or May. If anyone doesn't live super close but wants to ride the course, they are more than welcome to stay at my house. I'll post a separate thread to get that going, assuming the snow here ever melts and we can ride outside someday before raceday.
I'm in for both the Oly and HIM so should be an awesome weekend!
