JOS 2015 WK 7: Core and Weight time

Welcome to Week 7.

I did a chi running clinic today....I had done one prob 8 years ago.  Today I was pleasantly surprised with my pre-video.  My form has changed and while I was there to reinvest in my form, I have less to go today than I did last time.  I no longer throw out my hips or do a leg whip....very excited to see that in my video.  Seems like other aspect in my life...I still need to work on my RELAXation.  My hips need to let go....

Anyway...as I move to more form focus and now that I have added in some strength training, I have found my core.  I actually have one.  I also found my LATS last week after doing a few sets of pull ups on Wednesday...and then swam on Thursday.  i now know what it means to use your LATs in swimming! image

  • @ann that is fantastic! I look forward to finding my core. My weight is pretty good today consider my Anniversary was Valentines Day. I rode for 8 hours so I probably netted out OK nutrition-wise.

    My running coach is a Chi Running coach. I love the concepts. image Relaxation is not easy for me as my mind wanders...I lose focus. You can do pull ups! I'm so jealous!!!

    Just so you know I have assistance of rubber bands for my pull ups - just like I "grew into " push ups from knees to assisted push ups with the band now I can do push ups from plank! Gradual progression -
    Pull ups the same way - there are assist bands I use and one day I WILL be able to one day pull my own body weight!!! Up until sept I was a weakling I am now getting stronger by the week!! So excited to see the changes and they have helped in my swim bike and run!

  • I am down 3 lbs to 234 today as I did not get on the scale yesterday. The weight's still coming off but after a weekend of poor food choices I need to get back on the plan. It showed it my bike workout this morning, the least energy I've had all OS.

    I got in 3 planks 1:30, 50 stretch cords (2 sets) and 42 push ups last night before bed.

  • It's too cold for a naked weigh-in this morning. I spent 20 painful minutes with the foam roller and then Did planks and push-ups.

  • I had a good week of weight loss (5 pounds) last week. I have lost 17 pounds since the start of the OS. I have plateaued on my push-ups a bit stuck @180 for the four sets. I'm going in the right direction still have a way to go.

  • A bit stagnant on the weight loss for the past 10 days. I basically "spent" last week's pound on: German beer, brats, pretzels, strudel, with a few more calories towards a ribeye steak, McDonalds frys and large coke. There's my pound. Though I was told that I was very grumpy on our long weekend vacation and should have eaten more.

    Core workouts done for the week. Back to back Thurs/Fri. PU's were a little tough today.
