testing week but 2.5 weeks post meniscus sx

I plan on re-testing the bike this week but I was thinking a wait of 2-3 weeks of re-boot on the run before re-testing the 5 k- your thoughts?

  • Chris I'd wait until week 8 on the 5k. I'd rather you use your internal "effort-o-meter" to be smart as you return to normal. Deal?
  • Thanks Coach. Ran yesterday easy for a start on the treadmill and today track five miles at 8:20's and felt pretty good for three weeks post surgery. So will do the slow build back into shape and either race a 5k or test again on the track at the end of the out season. Thanks again.
  • Wow. That has to be some kind of record. :) I am okay with the training as long as you aren't using your pace as a "whip" to get you to run faster. Let your body dictate what's possible and you should be safe until we are 100% confident of the next step!
