Discomfort on the top of the foot

I noticed 2 weeks ago that the top of my foot would hurt when I'd lift my toes. I took off one week of running as a precaution. Then I got the flu and took the next week off of doing anything!

I'm starting to workout again and the pain has moved to discomfort. It didn't get worse over a 45' zone 1 run.

The only thing I changed that is somewhat close to the onset was a new bike for with new bike shoes that feel hard where the top of the shoe meets my ankle.

I'm going check the show for at my LBS. Should I lay off X until the discomfort goes away? If so what is X? I think it's a sore tendon on the top of the foot.
