EB Macro Race Decisions

Coach R - How did your 5k test go? If my test was accurate, I should hopefully break in to the 20s by the end of OS... so thanks for that : )

I think I'm finally back to 100%, and ready to commit to more of a race schedule. Before I resubmitted my road map, I wanted to ask your opinion on me racing a 70.3 this summer before Choo.

1. Do you feel it necessary considering it would be an early June race due to zero July options, and Choo Camp in Aug?

2. If yes, I would choose Raleigh (May31) or Rev3 Williamsburg (Jun14)... any opinion on this? If no, I keep my road map the same (only camps/spring 13.1s) and add in local sprints and Olys.

Happy Friday - EB

    Happy Friday - EB

My OS hasn't been what I wanted so...I'm just doing my thing and plugging along. Have missed this week due to a cold that Joanne brought home from a flight (awesome) and stuff like that. But thanks for asking

Not "necessary" but a good idea due to:

    • Great accountability tool for you, for from now through the race and...
    • Good mental tool for you, to give you something to think about and focus on other than Choo from now through this HIM.

Williamsburg might be a tick better, because it gives you a couple more weeks to train for it and it puts you deeper into June before you start your IM training. I think I'm having the Choo crew start the IM plan the last week of June, first week of July? It forget.

But I imagine that you'll be at Raleigh anyway? And/or I know we have a large crew of EN athletes racing so that would be fun. My only note to that would be that I'd have you do some weeks of the GF plan between Raleigh and your start of the IM plan in early July. IOW, you do not, for any reason, need to be in the IM plan for more than 12wks

  • This is great. Thank you. I think I would choose Raleigh since it is more convenient for my family. I'll be at the BR camp 4 weeks before. Do you think I can still swing it?

Hope you feel better. Silver lining: better she bring home cold than a stomach bug. : )

Yes, BR shouldn't be a problem. Stomach bugs are no fun but are good for quick weight loss so a net win

  • Hey Coach - Should I plan to drop in the HIM plan next week or stay in OS for a bit more? We forgot to talk about that...

Please submit a TSR request so I can see your entire race schedule and rework this formally for you.

  • Hi R -- I had two TSR when I went to update. One was complete, one was still open. I updated the open one 'waiting on coach' instead of creating a new one. Hope that's what you meant for me to do? I'm plugging along with OS adding longer bike/run days on the weekends for now. Thanks EB

Sorry, will get this done for you today. As the parent of a young doode, you'll understand when I say that I have my 10yo nephew in town this week. Dirtbiking school on Monday, took him to the shooting range yesterday, Joanne is taking him to Disneyland today. No idea if the kid has bathed or showered

  • And you just won best uncle ever award! Good work, Coach.
