JOS Week 9 Core/Weight Check in

A new week a new month!  If you fell off the wagon...get back on, turn the page and get moving.

I know March is another opportunity for me to start logging my food again.  I know that works ...when I do it....so I am doing it.

Let's kick some booty!

  • Another week of holding even.  I definitely need to turn it up a notch, eat less or both.  Six weeks left to hit the OS goal, which means 16 lbs to lose.  I'm still going for it but it will be tough.
  • I've been logging my food and exercise w Loseit, which is usually the first step to dropping pounds again.  However, just like the snow here, the pounds will NOT go away.  I'm losing maybe 1/4 lb/week.  I know slow n steady is good, but c'mon!  I've even been tightening the belt on weekends where I usually allow myself a little leeway but nuthin'.

I target a net of about 1,500 calories/day.  I may need to play around with that.  I think I either need MORE calories or LESS.  I've got that much figured out...
  • I've been lax on the food logging. Tired and mostly lazy. I eat a pretty mundane, repetitive group of foods day in and day out, so it's easy to count them up in my head. I will start again today as complacency leads to calorie creep, which leads to cheating, which leads to...a big bump off the wagon. It's a slippery slope I'm riding here.

Weight is slooooowly slipping off. The scale may not always show it, but the fact that my clothes are baggy and that I'm on the last hole in my belt are good signs. The problem is that will need to find smaller clothes to wear, or look like I'm wearing my older brother's clothes. Since I don't have a brother, older or younger, I will look like a vagabond. Good problem to have though. I'll have an In Season and an Out Season wardrobe by the end of the year.

Alright everyone, I know for me, the past 8 weeks has seemed like the marathon that wouldn't end. But it's time to reset focus and give it a final push for the remaining 6 weeks. Your racing self will thank you for it.
  • Love it Kim!! I have the same thoughts as you - more calories or less - which is it and how many calories did I burn? Really does swimming for an hour burn more than biking an hour??

Phil - love it when clothes feel baggier! Scale is just a number right?!?!

    Keep at to Gordon!!
  • Down 4.5 lbs since Christmas but still up 4 lbs from last year's race weight and 9 lbs above the "race weight" that I have arbitrarily chosen of 200 lbs. 3 months out from Raleigh, should be able to get there. I am basically a Quinoa and Chia eating machine.
