Transition from HIM to Get Faster

Coach Patrick,

Unfortunately due to a family emergency, I can't race in HIM Puerto Rico this weekend.  My season road map has me transitioning to the Get Faster Week 2 plan next week (and remain on it until Week 5).  Rather than stay in taper mode this week, should I do Get Faster Week 1, or start this week with Week 2 (and remain on it until Week 6)?  or something else?

  • David, so sorry to hear the news. If there's anything we can do, just ask.

    I think that you should taper a bit (just to recover from what you've done and to "mark" a transition...but then right into Get Faster (say starting with the Friday of week 1 and rolling from there).

    I'd then continue with the Triathlon Season RoadMap™ as planned...if you have more changes though, you can resubmit!
