2015 70.3 sT. George Lunch

Hi gang, although I will not be on the ground for this race, I would like to organize a team lunch on your behalf. I am not familiar with the location, so I am asking for some suggestions. I would like to set this up no later than next week. If you have any ideas, please throw them out here.  Thank you in advance for your help.

In the meantime, I ask that everyone go to the EN Event Sheet and fill in their info.

  • Hi Brenda, For this race there is a ton of admin to do on friday the day before the race.  For that reason i suggest scheduling a team dinner vs a lunch.  We have taken that approach for the past 2 years and that has seemed to work out well.  Last year and the year before we have gone to Capeletti's on Tabernacle.  The food is good so i'm open to going back again or trying something new, but for sure I think everyone would prefer to do a dinner vs lunch.

  • Brenda, I hit you up about this in Yammer, I think.

Let's do dinner at Capelitti's, and please make the reservation for right when they open. We scored last year, first one's in and then I think it filled up pretty quickly behind us.

Mark, because I'm too lazy to look it up...what admin do I need to get done on Friday? Pretty much everything? Register, drop off bike, set up T2, etc? I was planning to drive up on Friday but may do Thursday instead.

  • Hey Rich, I think you're cutting it close driving up on Friday. Friday you need to check in your bike and bike gear bag at sand hollow, about a 20 minute drive from downtown St George. Parking at sand hollow isn't great and it takes some time to get in and out because people are also there to swim in addition to bike check in. You must also check in your run gear bag but that is downtown St. George at T2. I checked the athletes guide and check in hours are 2-7 for both T1 and T2. It doesn't sound like a lot but I have always found I need to keep moving to get everything done on Friday.
