Power trainer/street
Good afternoon Coach,
My power threshold in power tests are vastly different, as in 15%, when comparing test conducted outside (hill) versus trainer with former being higher. I understand 5% difference is not unusual and maybe that's due to micro rest on the varying road terrain that is below the temporal resolution of the power meter. I have been dealing with it by using the trainer numbers since my interval sessions have been done on a trainer. I am assuming that for outside rides I should use the road values instead. From the technical point of view this is cumbersome since my computer (garmin 910xt) doesn't support two different zone scales and, worse, training peak would have to be modified back and forth to accurately record TSS. Am I missing an alternative?
Regards,
