Greg D. Calendar got away

Coach Rich,  I need your help planning the next few  weeks.   I am in week 11 of the intermediate OS and other than normal OS fatigue have had a great OS with nice gains and injury avoidance,  I have not been in the water since November.   I do not have a season road map as have been trying to reconcile a late summer early fall HIM or IM with work/family scheduling issues.  I do a local X50 (1 mile lake swim, 40 mi bike and 9 mile run) every year that I enjoy.  I was looking at the calendar and just realized the X50 is in 6 weeks.   Currently scheduled to exit the OS 4/12 which after the getting the legs back normal protocol would leave me two weeks 2 weeks till race day.  

Here what I am thinking,  Exit the OS after this weekend.   Gives me 6 full weeks until race day.  I am in China for business next week back Friday.  Use next week for a short recovery ( maybe light running a day or two on hotel mill ) and start a new program next weekend.  In prior years you have put me in the Get Fast program for this race, however was wondering if maybe a modified HIM (2/3 of the volume) may be appropriate?  Or increase the volume a little in get fast?  Last year I really struggled in the run in this race, but also recognize there were other factors (really bad swim).  Will defer to your guidance....And Thank You in advance!

    Hey Greg,

    Recommend you load up the HIM plan, keep the bike as-is scheduled in the plan but turn the runs down. Specifically, no need to run longer than 90' for the long run. Good luck!
