Swim drills in weekly swims

RnP,
Good morning. I am a classic age group swimmer. I have just finished the swim camp and am transition to a short course plan. I feel like
I would benefit from more technique drills but also need to swim. Would I add drills to the warmup and shorten the main set? Have one day
A week of drill focused? My schedule is such that two training sessions in a day is a challenge. Sorry, I guess this was more of a micro forum post.
Thanks for the help

    I would rather you:

    • Shorten the warmup
    • Add drills after a shorter warmup
    • Keep as much of the Main Set(s) as possible, given whatever time constraints you have.
    • Then as you get closer to the race, your swimming needs to be more swim-ey and less drill-ey. Call it about 6wks out.

Within ^this^ guidance you could pick a day that's more drill focused than the others. IE, maybe you do cut down the main sets quite a bit to accommodate the drill stuff.

    Make sense?

  • Sounds good. Thanks
