Troublesome sore spot near fibula
Wondering about some general advice or experiences here...
We're all used to a bit of discomfort...that's not a big deal. But I've got a spot along my fibula maybe about 5 inches above my ankle (i.e., on the outside of the leg) that is persistently sore. The pain is made worse by running, and not by cycling or swimming, and it persists overnight unless I take some ibuprofen, and it's been a few weeks that this has been going on. It FEELS LIKE it's the soft tissue around the bone, but I don't know would it would feel like if it were the bone. I'm unaware of people getting connective tissue issues there (like a tendonosis/itis), so I'm a little concerned I might be developing a stress fracture or something. I have not been in any sort of super heavy training mode...just pretty normal Half IM type stuff that I've done for years.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

That's a new one on me. But this site might help.
