Skip's Half Marathon test

Hi Rich, This is a message I sent to Patrick. He said I needed to communicate with you. Hi Patrick. My training program has me testing this week for bike and run. I am running a half marathon on April 18th and will use that for my test. I am presently redoing week 13 of OS and Rich has me scheduled to switch over to swim camp at the end of this week. Any suggestions on how I should train, when to do bike test and also be ready for half marathon. Do I need to communicate with Rich?

Add on: I have been experiencing heel pain on left foot (maybe plantars faciaitis sp? . treatments that I have been doing - stretching, icing, rolling, magnesium salts, massaging, heating.

I qualified for National Olympic tri in Milwaukee August 9th - teetering as to whether I should participate or not. I have a couple of friends participating in it.

I recommend you do the bike test early in the week, in place of whatever interval session we have you doing, and then race the half marathon on the weekend as your run test. Make any other adjustments you feel you need to after the bike test to set up a good half marathon on the weekend. 

    Add on: I have been experiencing heel pain on left foot (maybe plantars faciaitis sp? . treatments that I have been doing - stretching, icing, rolling, magnesium salts, massaging, heating. Ok, PF is hard to treat and fix mid-season so recommend you hook up with an ortho of other doc ASAP. 

    I qualified for National Olympic tri in Milwaukee August 9th - teetering as to whether I should participate or not. I have a couple of friends participating in it. You're not racing IMWI again, correct? Kona? If Kona you're fine doing this race and no real need to make any special accommodations for it in your TSR.
