Hey Coach Rich, I'm on the home stretch leading to my 2 marys - Boston & Big Sur - and feeling great... not super fast, but healthy and excited.  Per my season roadmap, I'll head into Swim Camp post-BS, then I'm supposed to do Get Faster, then head into the IM plan for IM Maryland. You had asked me to reach out once I finalized a mid-summer 1/2 IM to likely modify this plan.  I will be doing Vineman on 7/12, so could you please recommend how I should modify my plan over the summer?

Thanks much!

    Hi Julie,

Thanks for checking in. Please submit this to me via the Triathlon Season RoadMap link, under Training above, so I can plan this out formally for you. Thanks!

  • Hey Coach R... just wanted to let you know that I submitted the new race (Vineman) via the season RoadMap survey. Looking forward to seeing what I have in store for me in 2 weeks! Pretty sure it will still be start with Swim Camp... oh so badly needed!!
    Thanks!

Hey Julie, thanks for the ping. I'll do this for you later today. Thanks for your patience.

  • CoachR, I'm one of the IM MD casualties, and for various reasons, will not be going back IF they re-schedule to 10/17. Rather, I just signed up for IM Coz 11/29 - 8 weeks away, starting this Monday. I'm thinking I should just drop in to week 13 of the IM plan? Any modifications that you would suggest?
    Thanks!
  • And another question... I'm feeling the urge to ride the road bike. Think that's ok, and if so, when would I return to the TT bike?
    Thanks!

    Hey Julie,

    Man, this whole thing sucks...

Yes, drop back into Wk13 of the IM plan and fine to ride your road bike for a couple weeks, but I'd like you to be back on the tri bike for wk15-20. Also, not sure if you need another 2x RR's (1-2 in wk15, and the final in wk18). Instead, just put up the best cycling volume you can, on the tri bike, for wk15 and then do the final RR in wk18.

    Good luck!

  • Perfect! That's kind of what I was thinking. Thx Rich!
  • Hey CoachR, I have 2 days to pick a 70.3 for next year (as a partial credit for IM MD). I'm on the IM every other year plan (in order to stay married.) image So... question is what would be ideal timing, considering I'm doing IM Coz in 4 weeks and assume I should do Jan OS? I have friends who are doing IM NOLA 70.3 in mid-April, but that may be too early?? I was also eyeballing Boulder or Honu 70.3 - both in June. Thoughts?

    Thanks!

If it were me, I wouldn't want to do IMCoz, JanOS, right into an HIM in New Orleans in April = won't really be an OS. A June-ish HIM would be much better.

  • Hi CoachR... just checking in here to see if you got my message (in EN's messaging system) about readiness for training plan? Let me know if not... thanks!
  • Hey Julie,

Sorry I missed this. Please go into your TSR and make an edits for me, as this will bump it in my queue and ensure I have the most accurate information to do this for you. Thanks!

  • Hey CoachR, just wanted to make sure you knew I submitted an updated TSR a couple days ago.
    Thanks!

Yep, did it yesterday, thanks for your patience!

  • Hi CoachR, just got my email with TSR (hitting re-start again this season!), but... I'm not sure it was complete.  It had a creation date of 6/4 (which may have been when I was playing with it) and had the 12 week half IM minimalist plan loaded in at week -1 (ending 9/11), which is exactly what I loaded in a few days ago, just to take a look at it.  I also couldn't access the TSR Screencast ("page not found" message).  Could you take a look please?  Thanks!

  • Really... I've had no long-term advice since last June?? :)  Anyhow... just wondering about the Get Faster plan leading up to Long Course Worlds in Penticton (kind of a 3/4 Ironman - 3k sw/120k bike/30k run.)  You've currently got me on a 1/2 IM plan til my 7/23 Donner Lake 1/2, then Get Faster through 8/27 LC Worlds.  I've never done the GF plan so have no idea what kind of volume is in that, so wanted to know if there are any adjustments (ie, volume adds) that I should be adjusting my current 1/2 IM and then the GF plan to prepare for Penticton.

    Thanks much!
