Long term swim plan
RnP,
I really enjoyed the forum an podcast about Mike Roberts' swim improvement.
It has encourage me to try and plan for long term improvement. Currently,
I am doing multiple olympic length tris.
Hopefully, 2016 will allow my first HIM. Which leads me to my goal of a swim improvement goal.
I would estimate I would fall in the 1:20-1:40
swim group.
How would I plan my current in season swim plan to improve technique? Should I wait until the off season and spend a good portion of it swimming? I feel I have a lot of general technique improvement that could occur. How would that fit with the out season? I think for now I need to swim consistently until I at least get to the 1:15 range?
Additionally, IM California or Santa Cruz are my most likely options. So open water ocean seem enough challenge without complicating matters with poor technique.
Thanks for the help,
Eric

There has been a lot of interest in this so I'll probably create a supplement of some form that will live in the wiki, as a compliment to the swim workouts in the plan. So please be patient while I wrap my head around creating that for everyone. Thanks!
