Carol's micro thread - HM this Sunday

Hey Coach!   I'm winding up the JOS this week.  However, last week we went to sunny Florida and did NO biking.  Lots of swimming in the Gulf and running in the sunshine though!  We are not going to bike test this week because we want to wait and do it outside, so it may be another week or so.   Today I did 20 mins and 15 mins Z4 - felt GREAT:-)  I was thinking of doing the Z5 intervals on Thursday, like normal. but not sure about Saturday.  It calls for 3 * 8 min Z4 but that seems like a lot before the race.  For running, speedwork tomorrow (Wed.), brick Thurs. and maybe something short and easy on Saturday.  What'cha think?  I'd like" to push it a bit on Sunday, although my running has been "so-so".   If I could lose the "holiday weight" that I'm still holding on to, I'm sure my pace would pick up!  LOL

  • So great to hear from you!! I say just enjoy a nice easy 30 miler on SAT just to get loose and then rip it up on SUN -- just be smart with the pacing for the first 3 miles!!

  • Oopsie! Well, 30 miles on the bike would have been the longest ride I've done this year:-) Haven't even been outside yet! This week for sure... The race went really well. Was not sure if I could break 2 hours; finished in 1:58 (13.4 miles). Pretty happy with that:-)
