  • That could very well be shinsplints doesn't only happen on the Wednesday runner does that happen on all of your runs? In the meantime I would take a couple days off from running, in fact I would wait until next week.

Doesn't hurt at all when you bike / swim?
  • Patrick,

Thanks for the reply..I met Todd and Lizbeth last Friday.. No pain when swimming or biking...Pain shows up gradually (last 4 weeks) on longer slow runs and on the 3rd interval...

  • Sounds like a form related thing as your technique breaks down over the course of each run. Honestly I'd have you run as well as you can run "happy" and then shut it down there. Perhaps you want to work in some walking intervals to give yourself a break: 10 minutes running followed by a one min walking. Would you be interested in that?
  • Thanks Coach...I will do it..

  • Coach,

Shin is feeling better. I got my Gait analyzed (Todd refrerral) and it ain't pretty..The recommendation is to not run for 4 weeks while I reset and do corrective exercises.. thoughts..I can send the info along if you prefer..

  • Kevin, got it. I know who you saw and how it works...soooooo...I think we are okay. Looking at your Triathlon Season RoadMap™ it's better now than later for sure!

Looking at the Short Course plan, I say that Wed becomes Swim Only and Sunday is the option for a second, much easier bike...call it 1-2 hours just out riding and exploring. No brick runs.

As you do your exercises, you might consider pool running a bit on Wed / Sun to keep the muscles fresh...but that could be a question for your Run Folks...

Let me know what you think!

  • Great Idea..I will do it..Thanks Coach..
