Bike time this weekend?
I am in week two of the swim camp. I am doing the tour of California camp in three weeks. I did a three hour ride last Saturday when the plan only called for one hour.
What should I do this weekend? I could do up to three or four hours but I don't know if that would be too much given I haven't done any other biking this week. Could I do more than that? What about intensity should I go for more zone 3 time or should we do some intervals as on 4/5?

Riding pre camp is just time in the saddle...I'd skip the Z4 and just make each ride really steady with a strong last hour as you can. Remember you can go longer as long as you pace it well and fuel like a pro.
I'll be watching Strava.
I'll shoot for four hours this satruday. I haven't been doing anything else with swim camp but have logged plenty in the OS as I upped the weekend ride to 3 hours or so the last few weeks.
Either way...this camp will be a ball buster.
It's just like RnP preach. All of our intervals, all of our high intensities, have you ready for a camp week of volume.
It's never been clearer to me than right now. Coming right off of OS, I had 2 weeks before my BBW. They were going to be Run Durability. 1 was Run Durability. The other week I was super sick with a chest cold and super busy at work. I had 2 days available to workout, basically. I used those 2 days to reset my 'feeling' of going ez. I did 2 decent rides, 3hrs, but really put aside watt chasing and just rode by feel...ez/steady pressure. This didn't get me ready for BBW but it did 'slow' me down a bit, on the road and in my head.
Pacing for a big week is so much of thinking about Day 5or6orwhatever ON day 1 and 2 and 3. Showing restraint and being patient....early on.
But, what I wanted to say was that you don't have to start logging big miles before the camp to be ready for the camp. If you've been sticking to the plans, then you have the miles in your legs/lungs. You just have to use the brain now.
Y'all have fun!
Jeremy how was the weekend?
J, only one Micro Thread per person please!!!!
"Week two of Get Faster Advanced Plan here. Week 4 will be during TOC Camp....a week straight of long saddle-time days. Do I hack my GF plan to do more running and swimming in prep since I won't get any in 2 weeks and my legs will be fresh?"
No, just do the plan then head to the TOC...focus on the edits I am giving you via PM, not in the other Micro thread (or the letter you mailed to me or the voicemail you might leave or however else you plan on asking me for advice!!!!).
