 I appreciate the call yesterday. I wanted to follow up around how to change my workouts leading up to Stealhead at the beginning of August.

 I'll be on vacation on a river cruise in Europe July 8 thru the 20th without access to run, swim or bike.

  • Charles, thanks for checking in. I think that we end to make sure that you have done one race simulation before you head out (week 15) and I believe you will. I would suggest we supplement that week like we do for the IM distance with another big bike:

    Friday - ride 60, run 6.
    Saturday - ride 60, optional 3 mile run.
    Sunday - long run according to that week of the plan.

    When you get back we'll have one solid week to get you refocused.

    Will you have any exercise options on the trip?

     Thanks for the quick reply and the guidance. It makes sense to me.

     With respect to exercise options, I'm not sure. If I do, the only options I'll have will be a treadmill is there are any on the boat. I'm not really sure what if any sort of gym is available on a river cruise boat.

  • OK, no worries...if a chance for exercise presents itself and it works for you, then great. If not, we deal...you can use "extra time" to stretch, do core etc!
