HITS- Hague, NY Anyone racing this event?

I am racing the HITS half on 6/27 and curious if any other EN members will be there, of have done this event before? Let me know! Thanks

  • @Amy, My brother did this race last year.(I rode the course for training) The bike course has a serious climb immediately at the beginning and then again at the end. The first climb is nearly 5 miles of constant up. If you do not pace properly, you can easily wreck the remainder of your day. Once you get over the climb, the rest of the route is rolling and not too difficult. It is an out and back course. Remember that a big climb is waiting for your return. The final climb is not as long as the first one. It is about 3 miles.The good news is the 5 mile climb from the beginning is now a 5  mile decent. You can carry speed all the way down and recover for the run. The run has several short steep hills. The race itself was very well organized and the course was well marked. Good luck and enjoy.
