NOLA 70.3

I'll keep this sweet and simple:

Last wave of the day... and we had a delayed start....I went back to my bike and ate some food!
Rolling starts. I don't like those but felt like I'd do it like a bike time trial and look for rabbits. not such a good idea. I placed myself too fra back and no good feet to follow. won't do that again!

swim was short. I'm always surprised when it's over but was happy to be done as my ability to sight the buoys was difficult. I did not like the inability to prep in the area prior to the race as it was a bit confusing but was grateful for the location as less bacteria in the water (so it didn't turn into a duathlon)

Bike was really fun! I stayed in my box, so to speak, and could have gone harder but behaved myself. Only misadventure was crossing the Rigolets bridge... something stung my leg through my shorts! Ouch! I know I made some funny noises when that happened! I'm sure I scared my neighbors! It was incredibly painful for a simple old bee sting! but I had another hour on the bike and then the run so had to toughen up for heavens sake, it's only a bee sting!

The run was great. I thanked myself for behaving on the bike and pulled out the second fastest run in the AG.

Took third and was happy! got a rolldown for Austria Woohoo!!!

Love you guys!

BTW, went to medical eventually to get something to get the stinger out of my leg and they had nothing so a four to five hours after the event I got to the hotel and scrubbed it out. Nasty!

good food, good times, I love NOLA!
