Hoka durability?
Anybody else notice the Cliftons breaking down relatively quickly? I am running in a pair I bought in March, estimate I have 200-250 miles on them, and the right feels notably larger inside - almost like the foam is compressing out. Also, this is the second pair in a row where the instep side of the sole has began rolling away from the sidewall.
Also curious, are most running the race in these things? I am super happy with them (especially the first 150 miles), but remain curious if they are a good racing shoe.
Thanks,
DS

I love my Hoka Cliftons for training and racing. Enough cushioning to run a marathon but light and fast enough to run a 5k. I've run two 70.3s (soon to be three), a half mary, and an Ironman in them. They are the best shoe I've ever had, by a wide margin.
The first pair I bought had an issue with the color bleeding. I'm on my fourth pair, and haven't had the problem with any of the others. I'm replacing them every 500 miles. I still have the old ones that I keep for yard work and whatnot.
Just bought a pair of Hoka Challenger ATR trail running shoes, and they are hands down the best trail shoe I've had. Planning to rock these bad boys for my 50k.
I have raced in clifton's going on 2 years now and i really like them. The cushioning to weight ratio make them a really good choice for racing. Because i only race in cliftons in can't speak to durability as i probably have less than 100 miles on them. For training i use Bondi's for the extra structure and support although the Bondi is not technically a stability shoe.
If you want a deal on them, you can buy them here for $89 if you're an elite member and they have your size (even better with the 15% pop-up coupon): http://www.thetrishop.com/brands/hoka-one-one.html?utm_source=Hoka+Customers&utm_campaign=baefc2941c-clifton_sale6_10_2015&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_521398d52d-baefc2941c-407355953
Now that the Clifton 2 is out, you might see other deals popping up.
Was curious to give them a try...
