FTP from Intervals
I just started using a PM this week and yesterday's workout was 2x20' (5'). Can I use this wko to determine my FTP? Do I use NP or AvgP from the first or second 20' interval in the EN calculator? The data from my workout:
1st 20' NP: 224, AvgP: 219
2nd 20' NP: 221 AvgP: 220

Thanks!

Since this is the only data ya got, and you presumably want to have an FTP off of which to pace your upcoming race rehearsal, a quick and dirty estimate would be 95% of that 221 you got on the second interval. 210 for a nice round number. Better to estimate a little low than a little high - meaning using 220-225 might result in a burn-out/fail on the RR. Iff you can ride for six hours in the 140's, and then run for an hour @ your LRP right after, you'll have some good info to work with planning RR #2.
Meantime, think about when you might be able to do an official test sometime in the next month, on the road, in the aerobars. An FTP test can replace the weekly FTP interval session @ any time.
